Francesco D'Errico was born in 1962 in Naples. He gained a degree in Theoretical Philosophy at the IUO of Naples with a thesis titled Leibniz and music. He gained a Master's Degree in philosophical counseling at the University Federico II of Naples. He trained at the Conservatory of Naples giving philosophical counseling to students and teachers on topics of music.
Professional musician, in addition to concerts and recordings (33 cds published), he teaches Jazz at the Conservatory Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa of Potenza. He collaborates with the Conservatory of Naples (jazz piano), collaborated with the Conservatives of Cosenza (jazz piano) and since 2001 with Ismez (Institute for musical development in south Italy). He collaborated to the music therapy courses of Isfom in Naples and taught bachelor degree and the master's degree in music therapy activated as a trial project at the Conservatory of Foggia. He teaches at several advanced masters.
D'Errico is also active with meetings and seminars on the philosophy of music in Italy and abroad: among other the seminar at the Sorbonne in Paris in July 2010 entitled: music and identity. In addition to performing and composing D'Errico has created several sound installations, such as “attese distanze e le distanti attese” (expected distances and distant expectations) (Salerno). Among the pieces of chamber music he composed and performed: the string quartet “sonatina pulcinella” (Galiano Quartet, Naples).
